Introduction

The Diabetes Health Centre has been opened for over 35 years and our focus is supporting adults with diabetes.  

Our patients include:

• Prediabetes
• Type 2 diabetes
• Type 1 diabetes
• Gestational diabetes

Our team consists of certified diabetes educators who are nurses and dietitians.  Our clinic also has several Endocrinologists or diabetes specialists.  

Our goal is to help people self manage their diabetes by providing support and education on:

• meal planning
• exercise
• medication managment - oral medication, insulins, insulin pumps
• blood glucose control - meters, sensors 
• psycho-social behaviours

Our clinic is tailored to suit patients schedules by having evening session and weekend clinics.  Now with the COVID-19 pandemic we are also offering telephone visits and Zoom education sessions.

With the new St. Paul's hospital opening up, we are striving to become the leading centre in diabetes management.
